Miège to Kandersteg via Leukerbad

Lunch

On Saturday we need to take a packed lunch as there are few options on the way.
On Sunday we need should be able to have lunch in Kandersteg (I suggest the Restaurant Ritter).

 

Accommodation

Hotel in Leukerbad - Two of us have booked the Regina Hotel. The booking was on a "non-refundable" basis so I didn't want to risk booking too many places! There are still places at the time of writing.

Please, therefore book your own accommodation this time.

 

Timings

Saturday Leave Basel SBB at 07h56 from Platform 8 (direction Brig);
Arrive Miège Eglise at 10h50, with two changes -

Visp - Arrive 10h04, Platform 7; depart 10h09, Platform 6 (direction Geneva Airport).
Sierre/Siders - Arrive 10h27 Platform 3; depart 10h41, Bus Stop A (direction Crans-Montana).


Sunday Leave Kandersteg Station at 16h37 from Platform 1 (direction Biel/Bienne);
Arrive Basel SBB at 19h01, Platform 9, with one change -

Spiez - Arrive 17h14, Platform 4; depart 17h23, Platform 2 (direction Basel).

- Accommodation around CHF 95,- for Bed and Breakfast.

Rail Travel (2nd Class Train Ticket with the Halbtax Card)
- Basel to Miège Eglise - CHF 47,90
- Kandersteg to Basel - CHF 34,00

Cable Car
- Leukerbad to Gemmipass - CHF 15,00

Meals (inc. drinks)
- Lunch: Approx CHF 30,-
- Dinner: Approx CHF 45,- excluding drinks

Thermal Spa
- 3 hours for CHF 30,-

before Wednesday, 20th August .

This will give me time to book Sunday lunch and if there are 10 or more of us we would be able to get a group ticket. These are offered even if people Halbtax or GA concession cards.
